Educators

The teachers and staff at St. Vincent’s Children’s Center have vast knowledge and experience working with young children and families. They are deeply committed to the students, as well as their own professional growth and continuing education. Our low teacher-to-child ratio allows us to focus on individual needs, even while engaged in group activities. We reflect the values of kindness, compassion, and respect in all interactions with the children.

Philosophy

Our philosophy to provide high-quality, affordable and positive education experiences, while regarding each child as a unique, capable and competent learner, requires that we consider the individual needs, interests and achievements of each and every child and respond appropriately.

Learning at St. Vincent’s Children’s Center is based on a comprehensive, research-based program of study that emphasizes exploration and discovery. It focuses attention on five fundamental principles that guide our teaching and relationships with the children and each other.

  • Positive interactions and relationships with adults provide a critical foundation for successful learning.
  • Social–emotional competence is a significant factor in school success.
  • Constructive, purposeful play supports essential learning.
  • The physical environment affects the type and quality of learning interactions.
  • Teacher–family partnerships promote development and learning.

We are dedicated to the development of the whole child, and strive to promote their social, emotional, cognitive, creative, physical, and spiritual growth.
